The garden was designed in Neo-Renaissance style with elegant landscaping, curved footpaths with seating benches and it is bursting with monuments. You will find bronze statues standing atop the stone pillars that surround the garden representing various guilds and industry. Within the garden grounds there are 10 life sized statues of 16th-century humanists and distinguished Belgians that are arranged in a semi-circle behind the beautiful fountain monument dedicated to martyred patriots, the Counts of Egmont and Hornes. It all makes for a pleasant place to enjoy an afternoon rest or to partake in monument viewing if that is cup of tea. You can conveniently pass by before or after taking in the Lady of Sablon Church across the street. A 15 minute walk around here should suffice.Visited November 2022Written December 9, 2022

Only takes two or three minutes to walk around the whole thing. One can merely pass it by, but I would stop to get a good photo and enjoy the statues.Visited September 2023Traveled with friendsWritten September 18, 2023

This is a beautiful well maintained small garden which is surrounded by a series of statues. There is a fountain and, pool and benches which add to the tranquillity of the place. One can take time to breath and reflect on life, even though the busy traffic is not far away.
A lovely oasis!

The Jardin du Petit Sablon is lovely set of gardens in the southern part of the Sablon district. The gardens are bounded by iron fences interspersed with sculptures representing historical professions of of the middle ages such as clockmakers, tinsmiths, carpenters and many more I couldn't identify. The gardens are laid out in a very regular pattern, very much like an Italian garden. The centrepiece of the gardens is a fountain honouring two heroes of the Dutch Revolt of the Spanish Netherlands.
The gardens is just to the south of Église Notre-Dame du Sablon and worth visiting for the beautiful gardens and sculptures of local heroes.

We love the late 19th century garden of Petit Sablon because there is so much to see. It is also a good place to relax or have a bite on a bench. The garden is enclosed by a fence with beautiful wrought iron railings and forty-eight gothic stone columns topped with bronze statuettes. They represent 16th century craftsmen carrying the tools of their trade like a millstone, a ladder, a piece of piping. Unfortunately, the statues are a bit too high up to examine them in detail.
The heart of the garden is the impressive Egmont and Hornes Fountain (reviewed elsewhere). It is an impressive monument to Count Filips van Montmorency, count van Horne and Lamoraal, count van Egmont, both Knights of the Golden Fleece, who were decapitated on Brussel’s Grand Place on June 5 1568 for opposing the religious intolerance and political oppression of King Philips II of Spain.
In a half-circle behind the fountain there are ten fetching Carrara marble statues of illustrious 16th-century contemporaries of Egmont and Hornes in ivy-clad niches. Like the statuettes, they were designed by painter Xavier Mellery but crafted by different sculptors. Not all of the names inscribed on the high pedestals are equally well known today but, luckily each statue is reviewed separately on Tripadvisor.
The garden also offers a good view on the Notre Dame du Sablon church just opposite the street, which is also worth a look.

I visit Brussels regularly, staying around Avenue Louise, and this park is within walking distance. I enjoy coming here with a book, sitting by the fountain and watching people. Mind you, it might not be the quietest place. Trams are passing by and it's beside a busy street. Spend half an hour in the park, then cross the street and explore the picturesque Sablon.

An interesting place especially for its 'fence' of columns with little statues on top.
It is easy to find it when walking from the Court to the Royal Gallery.

I love this place, the beatiful garden with many sculptures on the fence who are workers from the past carrying their tools and with other sculptures in the park of the 16th century famous people - including them Mercator. If you come here, visit also the church of Notre Dame du Sablon, and then drink and eat at Grand Sablon Square at Leffe Café as we did and have a nice day!
