Patrons need to know that this spa has changed hands and it is no longer an affordable gem in Koreatown for unpretentious people, which is what is what it used to be. Now it is as expensive as any place in Beverly Hills. So if you want to pay those kinds of prices, might as well go someplace elite like Burke Williams.

I went to a few days ago with a friend and I just want to say the spa and pool itself was an amazing experience. However, I had a terrible private massage experience. They charged over $300 and included a mandatory 20% tip for a masseuse who just rubbed my body for an hour and ten minutes. She didn't even massage my shoulders or back. I told them about my experience very politely and they do not believe in hospitality at this place. I paid $60 for massages at Korean spas and had way better experiences. Don't bother with their fancy massage descriptions with uncertified lazy masseuses.

I will preface this by saying I've done a lot of spa'ing and been to Korean and Japanese spas/baths beginning as a young child in San Francisco.

The treatment I had was superb. If you’ve never been to one of these spas, just know that treatments are usually performed by deceptively tiny women, many elderly, all clad in a large black granny panties and coordinating bras...with the hidden strength of the hulk and the tender energy of your favorite teacher.

The fierce scrub, apparently sponsored by Brillo pad, and the vigorous massage were really impressive, attentive and renewing. I heard a woman complaining after her treatment that is was all too rough - for me there's no such thing. Bring on the friendly water boarding and a good police baton any time. My advice is to just focus on the delicious sensations of a motherly beat-down to avoid the humiliation of having your leg hoisted to the side so your bikini line can be adequately scrubbed. Did I mention you are very nude while this takes place? The amazing thing is that it's really clear that these fantastic women who are delivering this service both care about you, and yet have seen it all before...literally. So, get over yourself and enjoy the loving corporeal punishment. You will walk out feeling brand new.

But here's the thing - by any means necessary avoid going when it's crowded. How can one imagine that 2p on a Thursday it would be packed? I don't know - find an insider who does. We don't know an insider and it was crowded. Really crowded. And really crowded with lots of women who are apparently more comfortable with the centerfold spread pose amongst friends and shared bath water than I am. Don't get me wrong - I grew up on a commune in the 70's. I am super comfortable with nudity. This was a whole new level - this was not nudity, this was "neked" (say with a southern accent)! This was the kind of naked you might enjoy at home...all alone...very alone.

So, imagine, perhaps, 40+ of your middle aged relatives (for the record, I am a middle aged relative), sprawled, spread eagle in a hot sauna, on chairs, or bent over - full moon and then some - in the showers, or just EXTREMELY relaxed and at ease on shared towels on a heated tile floor . Not there yet? Imagine those same middle aged relatives walking around, neked, maybe lathered in soap and dripping said soap on the same floor you are walking on or sweating neked in the sauna (FYI - that clearly reads at the door "wear your robe!") Imagine looking into a tiny hot tub filled with murky, bottom-of-the-coffee-carafe-colored water, claiming to be Mugwort, overflowing with cheek to cheek neked moms.

Seeking some escape from human flesh before my treatment, I finally found a space next to the restaurant where I was able to meditate and do some yoga -- modestly covered by my robe...because I was NOT at home, alone. Inhaling the rich aromas of Korean bar-b-que during my meditation and Yoga was an unexpected benefit of my grill-side sanctuary (BTW the food is amazing! Save time to eat afterwards).

Go for the treatment. Stay for the Big-bim-bop. And, unless you are ready to have your boundaries of personal space tested, try to avoid the crowds. Yes, I'd still go back.

This was my first Korean spa visit and it was awesome. The staff here are very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel relaxed. If you're prudish and want to hold onto your clothes, then this is not the place for you... To experience it properly, you need to get your gear off and do what all the other women of differing shapes, sizes and nationalities - relax. No one cares that you're naked, no one's checking you out and it's all women!!

I did the Pure Bliss ritual and had 1/2 half reflexology done by Shin and Julie. Great therapists - my skin feels amazing and I'm relaxed - in L.A. This is not a "spa" experience by any means, but the facilities are clean, well maintained and comfortable.

You can't beat the value - remember to factor a 20% tip in for your therapists as well.. Parking is available at the park - it's free, but tip the valet!

Enjoy!

Lovely, relaxed atmosphere, very feminine without being "girly". Not as polished as some places, but the feeling is all the more real and reassuring because of it. Very attentive people. A wonderful place to spend 2 or 3 hours being pampered, with friends or on your own.

This was my first time in such a spa, but I had the feeling that it was pretty authentic from the fact that all of the women working there were Asian as were more than half of the clients. The naked factor took a few minutes to get used to, but after that was very freeing and natural! For only $15 you can use the showers, jacuzzi, cold pool, mungwort tea bath, steam room, sauna, and finish it off by laying down on their heated jade floor (I was so relaxed I fell asleep!). Definitely a no-frills kind of place - don't expect a high-end spa look, but do expect to feel relaxed and serene when you leave.

I've been to Olympic Spa three times for the Goddess treatment and it's been an amazing experience each time. I've gone twice with girl friends and once with my mom and despite the initial shyness of being fully nude, everyone gets comfortable very quickly and time just flies in the relaxing atmosphere. On my last visit we spent five hours at the spa - soaking, receiving treatments, eating delicious Korean food and relaxing and chatting in the heated jade room. It's absolutely amazing value and not only is it good for the body, it's good for the soul!

I have been going for years to this spa. I admit the first time was a shock to find the patrons were nude! But once the shock wore off, it was a fantastic experience that I repeat when I can find time. My personal favorite is the "Goddess" treatment.

Make sure to arrive an hour or so before your appointment to avail yourself of all the spa has to offer, hot tub, mugwort, charcoal room, salt room, etc... this will prepare you for the optimum experience.

The Goddess starts with a full body Korean Scrub, followed by a seaweed body shampoo, a Aromatherapy Massage which includes a essential oil scalp massage (tingly but good) then your face is then massaged and a purifying facial mask. Your hair is shampooed and rinsed, lastly a luxurious body cream is applied. Then you are ready to relax, drink some tea or take a nap on the warm jade stone floor. There is also a restaurant on site.

Then toodle home and go to bed, wake up and feel rejuvenated.

Highly recommend it. I did the Pure bill treatment and it was amazing. She scrubbed every knick and cranny of my body! I was as soft as a baby after. It took a little getting used to the nakedness, but after a few minutes, it was quite liberating. Make sure you get there half hour before appt time to enjoy the hot bath and open pores before.

When you pull up there is a valet for you. How fancy, red carpet treatment as soon as you get there. Once at the check in desk you get your key for your locker and pay for your entry fee and your services. You walk in and it's quite smaller than the other 3 Korean Spas I have visited. That doesn't take away from much at all. This location is not open 24 hours, which is a bummer but no worries just enjoy during the open hours.

I've been to 4 K-spas. This by far is the cleanest one I have been to, and they are all pretty clean. But I noticed this on took a step further with the cleanliness. There are signs posted
to shower after each tub you use. And people really abide by the rules which is nice. There's a hot tub, herbal hot tub, and a cold tub.

The shower areas are clean and there are not a lot of towels laying around. It felt like a cleanup fairy was there since I never saw anyone picking up after everyone. Could it actually be that people kept up after themselves? hmmm pinch me if this is the case.

They have less extra rooms than the other Korean spas I have been to, but it's okay, because other things make up for it. At some other spas every time I have gone the food areas have been closed. Here not only do they have food areas, but the food is absolutely scrumptious. After getting a body scrub and being in the warm pools, sauna and steam rooms you are drained and want to replenish. Being able to walk in your robe right over to the dining area and enjoy a scrumptious meal is absolutely wonderful.

Now as far as having a lot of areas to lounge, I didn't see this option. There is a heated floor with thin mats you can lay on near the food area. It's so relaxing after your treatments and a meal. I remember falling asleep around 1pm and waking up about 6pm. My friend had to leave and I told her, hey if I fall asleep and you have to go by all means leave, but please don't wake me. Honestly I thought I was going to have just a nap, but I had one of the best days of sleep in a long time. When I woke up, I was facing a woman who had her robe on but her legs were wide open. It was a bit confusing for a moment. Remember Korean spas, everyone is naked, and so was she under her robe. ha ha

Go, enjoy, don't be a prude and you will be just fine.
