I was travelling alone and the man in charge helped me to select wisely from the range of champagnes by the glass. The ambiance is somewhat spoiled by the choice of music, however. The slightly too loud rap they were playing the night I was there just did not work for a wine bar. The selection of snacks is small and pretty unimaginative, but high quality. The wine by the glass is also high quality. I like really big, gutsy reds and often find that Brussels wine bars offer nothing that really matches my taste in their wines by the glass. Not so here. The St Joseph was a stunning wine. The service was really nice and efficient, the Prosecco was agreeable, they served some little snacks quite good and tasty. As the name indicates, it is the little sister of Piola Libri, an Italian second-hand book shop-cum-café in the European district we know well. On a Saturday afternoon, the small café was so busy we had to come back an hour later to be able to roam through the books while having an espresso.
