What travelers are saying
- Cme1234Singapore, Singapore442 contributionsThe parliamentarium is an interesting place. It showcases the evolvement of the EU and the agenda that it stands for.
After visiting this place, I can’t help but to think that the EU is probably under the control of the USA.Written May 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Having done most of the other sights in the morning we booked this for the afternoon. We booked online for the English language tour, not realising there was also an alternative audioguide tour in any language, so didn't need to only book the tour guide slot).
The security was quick and then everyone sent to a reception hall to await the tour guide or collect an audioguide. 2 members of our party have hearing issues and the hall is echoey. We found it wasn't possible to hear the tour guide over all the other groups/general chatter (3 tours were going off at the same time). The tour guides don't use a microphone so 2 of us chose to ask if we could take the audio guide instead, which they said was fine.
Both tours follow similar routes and you see the same things. The audioguide also has video and you can choose which bits to do. You get to spend as long in the hemicycle as you want to and get to take photos/selfies. We found we all learned something and enjoyed our time there. The tour guide group took longer than the audioguide but those on that tour also said it was also very informative, so it depends on your preference/hearing as to which is best.
In the main hall there is also a photo booth where you can take a selfie with a range of EU inspired backgrounds and then have it emailed to you for free.Written August 14, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jurgen BBrussels, Belgium2,848 contributionsIt's the place where the rich people who live around it come for jogging. And it's very beautiful, in architecture and nature.Written March 25, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LeonhknyHong Kong, China14,195 contributionsThe western part of Brussels is full of buildings related to the European Union. Not exactly a tourist attraction, it does not offer anything particularly interesting for visitors apart from some unremarkable offices. It is more about the meaning than the sight itself.Written June 14, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dimitris LSydney, Australia44,486 contributionsWe passed by Palais de la Nation twice but unfortunately were unable to go inside. Upon checking more closely we later found out that you need to make prior arrangements in order to visit the building. However even from the street this building is worth a visit just to admire it for a few minutes. The neo classical architecture is wonderful. This palace was built in 1783. At the time it was known as the Palais des Etats-Généraux. Since 1830 it has been known as Palais de la Nation, or the Palace of the Nation, or the Belgian Parliament House.Written September 13, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Great to see the new flag of Finland joined by the rest of NATO.
Security is very tight and access is quite limited.Written April 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
