On a wet day in Brussels we came across train world.

The staff on site were very knowledgable and welcoming.

The entrance is right by the train station.

There are so many exhibits to see and you have the option to use a digital guide, which is very informative.

Towards the end of the museum, there is even a train simulator, where you can drive a train!

Really worth the visit and I would highly recommend.

My Belgium- Brussels long term friend suggested that we visit knowing that I enjoyed the Art Nouveau Period. I purchased timed and dated tickets on their website from the USA along with a combined visit to the Hannon House to follow- a short walking distance nearby. We visited in September of 2023. This is a self-guided tour of 5- floors of living space with original l furnishings. On the day of my visit the grand room was open to the rear garden that clearly showed that the beauty inside flows to the outside as well. The kitchen, bedrooms, dining rooms, bathrooms, window placements, greenhouse, along with period Imani pottery, wall of Delft tiles, and original furnishings were highlights. The number of visitors is limited so you can walk with ease and at leisure throughout the house. I would plan on spending about 1 hour in the house to appreciate its beauty. I would recommend reading about Victor Horta on the House website prior to your visits so you can just sit back and take in the visual beauty of this Art Nouveau Home.

Lambic and guese beers are the best and this is nirvana for lovers of such. The self guided tour is cool but the 3 tasters are even better. Full pours also available. You don't have to take the tour in order to visit the bar. Great stop before your train departs, not far from the station.

Overwhelming! We managed to get tickets for the very short opening period which is normally from mid April to the frist week of May.

Fascinated by the garden and Art-Deco interior. It was a really good experience for me discovering sculptures in the garden and entering the maze modelled on the mythological Daedalus.

Similarly, each room inside the house has been beautifully decorated with warm colours and fine art; it was a pleasure to discover more about the significance of David and Alice van Buuren in Uccle, Brussels.

The area is very nice both for the nature and for the Abbey. Some areas can be crowded in the weekends especially on June and July

The whole city smells like wafles, Smurfs everywhere. Autumn becomes it perfectly.
The thing that intimidated me a bit is the difference between rich and poor as you can see a lot of tourist spending their money and passing by all the homeless people...

Wonderful environment just outside the skirts of Brussels. Hiking routes free available in the internet. Nice points to refuel the inner person.

This beer bar pleasantly surprised us with its good selection of beers on tap.

We had the chance to try several of their offerings and found each one to be enjoyable in its own right.

In addition to the beer, we also savored their Pizza Slice, which provided a satisfying and decent bite to complement our drinks.

Undoubtedly, this is a good place to spend your evening, especially if you are eager to explore a variety of beers.

The ambiance and atmosphere create a comfortable setting to unwind and savor the diverse flavors available.

We were not familiar with the work of this artist until we found the museum on the website of the Fine Arts Museums of Brussels. He was a wonderful sculptor of everyday, working men, full of dynamism and energy, and this was one of our favourite places in Brussels. The entrance is very unassuming (the front door to his house) and you have to ring the bell to be let in but there are lots of his sculptures from small to larger than lifesize. No cafe but there is a toilet

A great art-deco villa and garden, to be best enjoyed on a sunny day. A pity you cannot swim in the iconic swimming pool.

I was not that impressed with the exhibition which aimed to fill the otherwise quite empty rooms on the first floor. Proper furniture would add to the experience, but that it just my view anyway.

We were staying local so this was on our doorstep.
Beautiful park with many interesting paths to walk.
Spread over many levels and dotted with various statues park was a pleasure to walk through.
Beautiful trees all over and interesting ponds.
All we were missing was our dog!

I’m glad to have the request to review this, since it should help other travelers.

I was struck (not at the stroke of midnight)or noon) by the beauty of the clock on the building and so fascinated to see the figurines come out, that I kept trying to align my visit to be in front of it when I heard the bells chime. I asked locals, who didn’t seem to know, and googled for information until I finally got the information, that there is no longer any movement, but sound only, every 15 minutes.

Although Trip advisor reviews had mentioned the experience being worth while, I got the answer on a website: theurgetowander.com that my efforts to see the figurines move was going to be futile.

If you have time to get out of the city of Brussels a stroll in this Red Cloister park is a great escape. It is a Natura 2000 site, and has some rare bird species. It also has a play ground for kids. When we visited they were renovating the buildings and the café was unfortunately closed. But it was still a nice walk.

I have been two times - the first with a group of friends and the second with my office colleagues for a 'teambuilding' activity. I had a lot of fun on both occasions and found that the time flew by. The staff are extremely friendly and make you feel at home right away.
